Veliero Cassina Description
The Veliero Storage unit of Cassina is a product that needs to be seen in person to fully appreciate the dynamics that went into its construction. The only semblance of structure comes in the wooden pieces shaped like a "v" in the middle, while the rest of the materials serve to anchor the component in its place. The Cassina Veliero defies physics; the way that the elements are held together by the cables showcase Cassina's technological prowess. This is a furniture piece that will stir up conversations wherever it is.
Veliero Storage Unit Cassina Features
The support system for the Cassina Veliero is reminiscent of the technology present in suspension bridges. The main support structure is held together by cables and other supporting metal rods that make the glass shelves seem as if they are floating in the air. This design feature gives the Cassina Veliero Storage Unit an edge over similar products due to the complexity of its construct. Designer Franco Albini initially created this item as a one-off for his Milan home, but its ingenious design is too compelling and must be shared with the rest of the world.
Veliero Storage Unit Materials
The Veliero of Cassina is a product that needs little in the way of finishes to give it the visual appeal that it has. Its assembly alone is enough to provide its charisma which is then given to anyone who sees its impressive shape. You have two options that can be applied to the wooden elements of the product: a natural matte varnish or black-stained ash wood. The metal support rods are finished according to the selected finish for the wooden components. All of these decorations only add to the already spectacular appeal of the Veliero.
Veliero Storage Unit Cassina Compositions
The Veliero Storage Unit of Cassina measures in at 266x55.5x205 cm, an apt measurement that enables it to be a storage unit and a room divider, should you choose to utilize it this way. The image that its shape provides can allow it to be seen anywhere, from your home, a fashionable boutique, or even a hotel lobby. The entire construct of this product is based on properties that are more inclined to bridges than furniture, making it even more unique in terms of furniture production. Since its first appearance in 1940, the Veliero continues to represent creativity and ingenuity.
