Cassina Lc4 Chaise Longue Description
The Cassina LC4 Chaise Lounge is one of the most iconic furniture pieces ever made. Initially designed in 1928 and released in 1965, this beautiful item is the definitive chaise lounge; its construct revolves around the human body. The idea that form and function should be at the service or relaxation is the driving force behind its conception; the furniture must be following the user's needs and not the other way around. This line of thought gave birth to Le Corbusier's LC4; an exquisite piece of furniture that continues to captivate anyone who sees its superior form.
Lc4 Le Corbusier Features
The most notable feature of Le Corbusier's chaise lounge is the metal framework that allows it to recline. This feat is made possible by the arcs that constitute the frame of the item. The same arcs are carried by its steel frame which then supports the metal structure in any orientation that the user wishes to utilize. The rest of the components of the Cassina LC4 Chaise Lounge only add more beautiful details to an already exemplary furniture piece. Truly inspiring, Le Corbusier's LC4 continues to set the bar for furniture design.
Chaise Longue Le Corbusier Materials
Le Corbusier's LC4 comes with only a few upholstery options as it does not require several finishing materials to add to its appeal. The construct of the LC4 serves as its main design element, giving it its signature look. The available upholstery options in black, beige canvas, black cowhide, or black-white-and brown cowhide, provides the needed colours for the cushioning for the daybed. The metal frame of the chaise lounge itself comes in either chrome or black. The metal carriage supporting the entire structure is lacquered with a matte-black finish.
Lc4 Le Corbusier Compositions
Le Corbusier's LC4 daybed comes in only one measurement; 56x69x163 cm. This product needs no other variant as it has already achieved its perfect form. The LC4 is a furniture piece that has gone beyond being a simple seating implement and has stepped into the realm of immensely iconic design pieces that transcends forms and styles. Truly in a league of its own, the LC4 has evolved from a simple chaise lounge to an essential piece of furniture design that absolutely impacts the entire globe.
